How to Upgrade a Site Yourself in UnHosting

If you do not have custom code or custom plugins and you are using the unHosting Control Panel (UHCP), you can upgrade your own site.

Important Note: We highly recommend that you do a test upgrade on your sandbox/dev/staging site first before upgrading your production site. Prior to doing an upgrade on your production site, request a backup of the site through the Helpdesk.

To upgrade your site using UHCP, please complete the following steps:

  1. Put the site in maintenance mode:

    1. Click Administration, then Site administration, then Server, and then Maintenance mode

  2. Log in to the UnHosting Control Panel

  3. Click Sites on the left hand navigation

  4. Click in the Info/Details icon on the site listing

  1. Click Edit Settings

  1. Monitor the upgrade process until completed.

  2. When successful, log in to the site and make sure it has updated by clicking Site Administration, then Notifications to view the listed current version.

Upgrading Plugins

Upgrading plugins should automatically be handled with the upgrade, but as a back up option, you can go into UHCP and check Update installed plugins? and click Deploy Changes again.

What to Do with a Failed Upgrade

Please submit a ticket to the support desk for escalation as this would require restoring from backup.
