How to Display Moodle Certificates on LinkedIn


This tutorial outlines a two-part process for enabling certificate sharing on Linkedin. The first step of the process is completed by a Site administrator and the second step is completed by an end user. 


Moodle Admin Settings - Enabling Certificate Sharing on LinkedIn

First, go to Administration > Certificates > Certificates settingsChange the ‘Show share on LinkedIn’ setting option to ‘Show link to certificate page’


This will add the option for users to share certificates they have earned on LinkedIn.


User Steps Within Moodle

To add the certificate to LinkedIn the user will need to go to their profile in Moodle.



On the profile page, select ‘My Certificates’ In the Miscellaneous group.


 

Next, select the "LinkedIn" button to the right of the certificate name in the ‘Share on LinkedIn’ column. 



A tab will open in a new window that contains the login for LinkedIn. After logging in to LinkedIn the ‘Add license or certification’ window will open with the certificate name and other fields filled in. Add the name of the issuing organization, as it is required, and any other desired fields then save the changes.




The certificate information will be displayed in the ‘Licenses & certifications’ section in LinkedIn.



Selecting the ‘Show credential’ button at the bottom of the item in LinkedIn will display the certificate validation information in Moodle.
